Dr. Anusha Rama obtained an MBBCh from the University of Witwatersrand in 1999 and a Fellowship of the College of Medicine of South Africa in the field of Psychiatry in 2009 after spending 2 years in the UK as a Psychiatry Medical Officer and 4 years of specialist training at the University of Witwatersrand, where she was the recipient of the Outstanding Registrar Award. She continues to be involved with the University and the Gauteng Department of Health as an undergraduate and postgraduate lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry, specifically in Community Psychiatry and Public Mental Health, as well as facilitator and supervisor of community based psychiatric care in several of the Gauteng Health Department clinics. As a Community Psychiatrist she has been exposed to all aspects of patient care.
